29903 Hantwick Road
Battle Ground, WA
This property had been in Sandy Wolford's family since 1945 when her parents purchased the site including a small house on the bluff over looking the east fork of the Lewis River. Sandy and her Husband, Tom, decided to make this their perminant residence in anticpation of retirement. Tom & Sandy Wolford commissioned Bottemiller Architecture, PS to expand the old residence to meet their needs. Unfortanutely, the old home had substandard ceiling heights and lacked a concrete foundation system, so the designed called for removal of the old house and replacing it with a new structure set back further from the river to meet setback requirements. The public view of the new home (shown below) has the same footprint of the original house. The addional area required was added on the opposite side of the home to minimize impact of the larger structure on this scenic site.
